New Needlebook for those who love to sew.

Nuno felted Needlecase

Embroidered Needlebook

Inspired by some embroidery I learned at the recent Koala Convention I made a couple of Needle books using some Nuno felt, embroidery threads and buttons. They were fun to make and the merino wool gives a lovely softness. For more details click Here
I highly recommend taking a class at the next Koala conventions, there are heaps to choose from. I really enjoyed the two classes I took with Susan Porter and learned some new embroidery skills. I’m still working on the two projects, but will post a show and tell when I do.

I am now on YouTube.

I now have a YouTube account thanks to my lovely daughter Fern and her terrific partner Simon who came to visit me in Eulo for Easter. They took a few videos of me working in my studio creating lampwork glass beads and explaining the process.

In this first video I have just demonstrated a very basic bead but you can check out some of my other lampworking tutorials for more advanced glass bead making instructions. Here

The supplies I used to make this bead include:
Blue glass rod COE 104
Mandrel coated in bead release
Creation station and lampwork torch

For a full run-down of the lampworking tools I use when making my beads check out this Video

Please comment below and let me know if you have tried making your own glass beads.

You can also visit my Gallery to see more of my work.

Have fun making your own homemade lampwork beads!

Exhibition and Newly Listed.

A neighbouring town about 3 hours away is having an Art Exhibition featuring Art products and produce from our little town of Eulo.
I sent up all the items I had listed on Etsy as well a some I had made especially, 80 items all together.
The show will last for a month so rather than close my Etsy store I have changed most of the Items to Custom Order only and deactivated some that I don’t currently have supplies to remake.
After packing them all up and sending them away I found three items that I had over looked.
A necklace, and 2 bracelets.

These are now listed on Etsy as Ready to Ship.

New wool supplies.

I received an exciting parcel in the post and look what it contained.

Merino wool for Felting

Wool Roving

I’ve been restocking my wool supplies with these lovely balls of Multi coloured dyed Merino tops (rovings) from Virginia Wool Farm
I’m looking forward to creating with these lovely colours and the wool is always top quality.
It’s quite fine, pulls apart really easily, and is super soft.
I need to make more oven mitts to restock my Etsy Store and I’d really like to make myself some cushion covers.
